Winter musings

Winters will come, and winters will go.

There will be sun, and there will be snow.

And while the mist freezes and frosts,

I'll stay warm, wrapped in the past...

Wrapped warm in the embrace of love that lasts.

Hellooo! I don't really know if I can call this a poem - its not really much. But it is something I'm happy  I wrote. As I mentioned last week - I am trying my best to write more. And while this is not something "extraordinary", it is something that I like.

With the winter still upon us - My inspo for everything recently, has been the cold and cozy weather. I came up with this when I was waiting for my friend at the cafeteria, and I was texting an old friend. This made me realize that, when it comes to life, I think of times spent with people I like as comforting. This got me thinking, how much influence one's friends and family can make on one's life. They don't just make a mark on us at the time when we are with them, but stay on with us, well into the future...making us feel warm when life feels gloomy and frozen.

I don't really know what to classify this writing as - poem? prose? something that should have stayed in my mind? - idk.

But it is my way of saying 'Thank you' to those who make me feel comfortable and safe, to those who lend their ears to me, to those new faces who I know will be my friends for long and especially to those old faces who I still keep seeking out. Thank you all for existing, thank you for being you, thank you for being my summer warmth during life's winter mornings. Nothing can encompass the depth of my gratitude for you all.

  1. I’m not big on poems cause I don’t really understand them 😂. Keeping that aside isn’t it nice that we have built good friendships through out our schooling days and college days without expecting anything from them. Later as we grow up we realise what a great investment that has been. How much peace it gives either to think about them or to go back to them when life drowns us.
